It’s expected that every July 4th is Rwandan Liberation Day. This year the Government of Rwanda has built model villages inhabited by people who are often homeless, in order to help them overcome poverty.

This year the day of liberation was celebrated in the KINIGI sector in the MUSANZE district where the model village of displaced persons of KINIGI was inaugurated.

The village is located at 12 kilometers from the town of MUSANZE in the middle; this village was built by the Rwandan Armed Forces. It consists of proportional residential buildings for 144 families.

"Urubuga rw'itangazamakuru" (Press Club) of this Sunday 04-07-2021 broadcasted in synergy by ten radio stations across the country and a Television (TV Isango star) focused on: "release 27:" The 27th Commemoration of the Rwandan Liberation: Policy of living in model villages

The guests:

1. Joseph HAKUZWUMUREMYI / Journalist

2. Prof. MASABO François / Professor at UR University

3. BAHAME Hassan / MINALOC

The guests have confirmed that these model villages built by the government have changed the lives of the people as many of them have been displaced, homeless, and displaced by the government for various reasons, and the inhabitants of these villages are getting closer to the infrastructure that helps them with their daily lives, including water, electricity, schools, clinics, roads and more.

On the other hand the citizens of these villages said that although the government has helped them to find decent housing and livelihood, they have the problem of lack of water in the village of SHYIRA, lack of markets and of health advisers in KARAMA, the lack of electricity in the villages of HOREZO, the provision of a small house that does not correspond to the size of the family, etc ... But on these questions, MINALOC said he would directly follow them and solve them soon.

In the Talk show, citizens said that residents of these villages still feel that the houses given to them belong to the government, so even when the lamp is out of order, they call to come and see their lamp. They fear that everything related to buildings will be the government concerned and fixed, even if it is a small matter.
