Every 4th July, Rwanda celebrates the day of liberation (Kwibohora). "Kwibohora" marks the day on which the Rwandan Patriotic Army ((now the Rwandan Defense Forces)) liberated Kigali, leading to the end of the genocide against the Tutsi.

Also on July 04 of each year, Rwandans celebrate as a united people, liberated and focused like never before on achieving the future they want. It is an opportunity to share the history of the past and discover the vision of Rwanda for a peaceful, prosperous and autonomous nation.

Urubugarw’itangazamakuru (Club de la Presse) for this Sunday 05-07-2020 broadcasted in synergy by ten radios across the country and a Television (TV Isango star) focused on: “Rwanda: Liberation journey 26 years ago”

The invitees:

1. Hon. Sheikh HARELIMANA Abdul Kharim / RPF

2. Hon. Frank HABINEZA / Democratic Green Party of Rwanda

3. Alain Jean Baptiste NISINGIZWE/journalist

Twenty-six years have passed since we freed ourselves. We have accomplished a lot. This required sacrifice, hard work and the collaboration of many. The values that characterized our liberation are still important today. Said Hon. Sheikh HARELIMANA Abdul Kharim, the representative of RPF party

He said that currently, there is no more gun fighting or any other kind of war but there are still several things to be freed against. He gave the example that today we must make a lot of efforts to achieve good liberation by fighting against: Corruption, public funds embezzlement, racial, regional, and religious discrimination.

As the commemoration of the 26th anniversary of the genocide took place in sobriety because of the covid-19 pandemic, we must all be united, stand up, show solidarity in order to fight against this pandemic, all with the aim of having the real liberation.

According to HABINEZA Frank from opposition party , we must all fight, fight against all the evils that were to neutralize our country like those which hide behind the economic embezzlement of the country, corruption, all kind of violence so on… for our common good, and not only for individual benefit

He came back to the speech of H.E President of the Republic Paul Kagame at the meeting of the National Executive Committee of the RPF, that the government will not tolerate officials who waste public resources, which are limited in relation to the ambitions and aspirations of the nation.

“Our country will continue to advance on the basis of our efforts, our skills and our capabilities, as we continue to work together. So the Liberation journey continues.” H.E Paul Kagame

Alain Jean Baptiste NISINGIZWE, Rwanda will not stop continuing to contribute to the liberation from fighting, from banishing all the enemies of development. He said he was concerned that people are not learning about the situation and that people are still making mistakes while others were being punished for the same mistakes.

“Sadly, it is done by people who should be role models, which is to undermine the liberation struggle which led some people to give up their lives to the point of dying.

This is why each Rwandan citizen or even a resident can make an effort in achieving sustainable development to successfully achieve the liberation of all Rwandans.
